Website Facelift!

The Adam Dealey Foundation web site has had a facelift and we hope you like it.

The website was designed and is maintained by UNiCRON STUDiOS, which is run by Marcus Quinn.  George Quinn contacted John Dealey and wanted to help after reading an article within the local newspaper regarding Adam.

The event was a great susses, raising more money than last year and meeting so many more new faces. John & Marian would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone involved for their support and help in making Adam's 9th Golf Day the success it has now become......

John and Marion Dealey would like to thank everybody involved in the many functions, which have been performed through out this past year. Without your help we would not be able to continue funding the research going on at the various universities and organizations. John has said "although my time is limited, I hope to meet you all in person at some point to thank you for your most welcome contributions".

The fifth annual Adam Dealey Golf day held at Shendish Manor Golf Club was a big success. It is hoped that next years event will bring the total money raised over the £100,000 barrier. Adam whose parents John and Marian Dealey have worked tirelessly, not only to keep his memory alive, but also to help families in similar circumstances.

The fifth annual Adam Dealey golf day, held on Friday the first of September at Shendish Manor, raised a staggering £10,074 for the fund. A total of 22 teams took part with some competitors travelling from Scotland and Switzerland. Wasps and England rugby star Lawrence Dallaglio and former England rugby player Damien Hockley were members of the Choice Discount Store team from Essex. The winners were Swallow Antiques from the Southend area. The Paul O'Rilly All-stars from Sarratt, (will publish photo soon) finished second and included Adam's uncle Paul O'Rilly second right...

A dinner-disco presentation followed the event, attended by more than 150 people. The highlight was a prize draw for two Virgin tickets to St. Lucia - donated by Richard and Joan Branson - plus accommodation for two for a fortnight at Orange Grove courtesy of Resorts International.

Adam's brother Justin made a fine auctioneer as he auctioned items which included a signed Arsenal football, a West Ham shirt and a signed England rugby ball, but no-one managed to win the Vauxhall car with a hole-in-one. The cash will go to the United Children's Cancer Study Group to promote research and treatment of Ewing Sarcoma, which claimed Adam's life. The total cash raised so far is now well over £90,000. In the past few months a further £30,000 has been handed over to the UKCCSG as well as £1,000 to the Keetch Children's Hospice in Luton, to supply toys. Adam's family have thanked everyone who supported the event and donated prizes, especially the Branson family and Tom Concannon, manager at Shandish Manor.

A further massive annual golf event is planed for next year, mid September (watch this space). Marian and John Dealey would love to hear from anyone wishing to sponsor future events.

A fund set up in memory of Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead schoolboy Adam Dealey is set to continue with it's fundraising endeavours in conjunction with other Childhood Cancer Charities, to assist with the funding and research going on throughout the world. The Adam Dealey Fund, now known as The Adam Dealey Foundation for Ewing Sarcoma, was started by John and Marion Dealey after their 10-year-old son Adam lost his struggle against the rare Bone Cancer known as Ewing Sarcoma.

Since Adam's death in 1995, events held in his memory have helped to raise more than £80,000 to fund research and treatment into Childhood Cancer. One of these is the annual fund raising event held at Adam's school each year. Where a trophy, donated by John and Marian Dealey is awarded to the most improved pupil. The aim of the charity is to raise awareness of this rare cancer throughout the world and assist research centres with funding, one of whom is the UKCCSG at Leicester. The fund recently donated £30,000 to the United Kingdom Children's Cancer Group and a further £1,000 has gone to Keech Cottage Children's Hospice in London, the only children's hospice in the area.

Helen Moore, Denbigh North Wales is one of the many children who have been cured, and she is still going strong to day. Helen's parents were told at the time that her condition may be due to growing pains to trapped muscle tissue!
