I delighted to be in a position to update you on the results of the 13th Adam Dealey Golf Day fundraising weekend.

One way or another it has been a difficult year but once all the monies are in we will have raised a staggering £32208.23 from the weekend’s events which has made all the effort’s worthwhile.

As you all know the golf started off the Friday followed by the gala dinner at Sopwell House and this alone will have raised £18778.

After a short break on the Saturday Marian and myself headed off for London on the Sunday where I had just under 30 runners from Virgin plus friends taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon running for Adam on behalf of The Bone Cancer Research Trust of which I am deputy chair—the run plus a substantial donation that has since been received raised a further £13430.23.

In addition to this BCRT had just over 70 other runners taking part in the event raising in excess of another £32000 –these included people who had lost children to Ewings/Osteo Sarcoma , had friends undergoing treatment or were running on behalf of survivors and creating further awareness.

Marian and myself met many special people on the day on the BCRT stand the saddest case being a mother running for her son who was an amputee and had been told on the Friday following a routine scan that sadly the cancer had returned and he was to go back into hospital on the Monday but they had both taken the decision that she would still run to raise funds for research.

On behalf of Marian , Justin and myself we cannot thank all of you enough for your kind support and a special mention must go out to the 5 who survived the golf and the evening’s festivities to take part and finish the course on the Sunday.

Needles to say I will keep you all informed of how the monies raised will be utilised in due course but in the meantime should be pleased if you would pass our thanks onto you team mates, guests and supporters.

Finally I will over the course of the next couple of weeks hope to be able to send round some photos of the various events relating to yourselves if you were lucky or unlucky to be included in some of the shots taken.
